TAFKAL: MOST WANTED

What do a born presenter slash world‑champion Chardonnay connoisseur slash professional “no one is leaving here tonight!” shouter, a filmmaker slash professional nap‑taker slash contortionist, a soldier without an official rank slash supermarket manager slash soft‑rock lead singer, an amateur conductor slash self‑proclaimed know‑it‑all slash owner of a James Bond pyjama, and a leisure journalist slash human embodiment of a Zeeland oyster slash Guns N’ Roses’ Slash superfan have in common?

They are TAFKAL. And TAFKAL is Most Wanted.

That’s why they’ll be back in theatres again in 2027. After a completely sold‑out 2026 tour, that may come as no surprise — but TAFKAL themselves remain utterly unpredictable. Five men. One goal. Making it to the end of the night.

About TAFKAL

In late June 2004, the television landscape was transformed with the arrival of the improvisation show De Lama’s. Television history was made. Between 2004 and 2008, millions of viewers tuned in to something entirely new: everything was invented and performed on the spot. After 83 episodes, the Lama’s called it a day.

By then, Ruben Nicolai, Jeroen van Koningsbrugge, Tijl Beckand, Ruben van der Meer and Patrick Lodiers had also conquered the theatres, bidding farewell with performances in six cities for a total audience of 65,000 people.

Between 2008 and 2017, the Lama’s did not perform together and focused on their individual careers. But some things are impossible to resist: in 2017, they made a spectacular comeback at the Ziggo Dome with four shows, repeating the feat once again in 2019.

In 2022, the Lama’s continued under the name TAFKAL and have since racked up an impressive series of sold‑out theatre shows. They also made the move to Videoland, where two seasons of TAFKAL are now available to stream. In 2024, their 20th anniversary was celebrated with two shows at the Ziggo Dome, and after sold‑out theatre tours in 2025 and 2026, 2027 is set to be another year for the history books.
