Culinary journalist and omnivore Joël Broekaert takes us on a journey through the five basic flavors and countless aromas that we as humans can distinguish. Not only in words and images, but mainly by tasting together.

Every visitor will receive a test box with ingredients with which a number of taste experiments are conducted during the evening under the supervision of Joel. A simple theater lecture thus becomes an interactive sensory and above all tasteful experience.

After tonight you know the difference between taste and aroma, you know why you should never chew chocolate again and why eating fat is so good. But above all you have tasted surprising new flavors, fun tests and tasting is never the same again.

About Joël Broekaert

Joël Broekaert is a restaurant critic for NRC and a culinary columnist for Vrij Nederland. Joël also makes his own TV program The five flavors of Joel in which he travels the world to learn everything about the five basic flavors that people can taste. In addition, he is regularly seen in current affairs programs such as Pauw and DWDD.
