“In the beginning there was nothing.

It's hard to imagine that.
You must not let everything there is now.
You gotta turn off the light and not be there yourself
and then also forget all the dark,
because in the beginning there was nothing, not even the dark.
If you want to see the beginning of everything, you have to leave out a lot.
Your mother too. ”

De Schepping is the first part of the successful music theater trilogy by the Netherlands Wind Ensemble based on the three oratorios by Franz Joseph Haydn. The starting point for the performance is the oratorio Die Schöpfung in an original and special arrangement for wind instruments by Josef Triebensee, a contemporary of Haydn.

The Blazers asked Flemish writer Bart Moeyaert (winner of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2019, the Nobel Prize for children's literature) for a new text to accompany this

to write old music, but never performed in this way. During the concerts Bart Moeyaert tells the story himself.

Please note: the price does not include € 2.85 transaction costs.

This show takes place in HAL8.

This show is a production of Theater aan de Parade and MAINSTAGE.
